Chlorine Dioxide is a disinfectant, that, due to it's mutliple advantages, replaces Chlorine more and more often in cooling water applications. Its disinfection force is stronger and independent of the cooling water’s pH value. Due to its specific chemistry, no chlorinated by-products can be developed in the cooling water, AOX-values are decreased by more than 90 % compared to chlorine. The much longer half-life affords better depot action in treated cooling water. Because almost no microbiological resistances are developed, it can be metered continuously.
